It is important to obtain a builder’s risk policy to
protect your investment during the construction phase.
Some builders will have a blanket insurance policy but check with your Florida
homeowner’s policy as most builder’s policies DO NOT cover all of the owner's
investment should catastrophes such as a fire, hurricane, flood or other acts of God occur. Unfortunately, these things do happen so get the proper insurance during construction. If you are getting a bank loan the bank will likely require this but
check to be safe.
